An
excursion to Europe's “Grand Canyon”
in the Gorge du Verdon is an unforgettable experience.
On the way there you will drive through a number
of typical Provencal villages, among them Moustier
St Marie, which produces excellent faience. For
those who love fresh-water sports, there is kayaking
on the Lac St. Croix and rafting and hydrospeeding
in the Gorges du Verdon. The delightful village
of Sillans la Cascade, with its fine waterfall,
is well worth a visit.
Activity
ideas At Domaine du Colombier a large choice of
activities is offered: swimming pools, a fitness area, jacuzzi®,
a sports area, jeux de boules and ping pong.
Alternate pleasures and visit the high plateaux
of Provence. Independently with your car: Sillans la Cascade, a haven of cool on
a hot summer day having crossed through various
little villages like Salernes, well known for
its tiles and pottery. Take a coach trip on Thursdays,
to the Gorges du Verdon 22 € : in
the heart of Provence, a protected area, with
the deepest canyon in Europe. Towards Draguignan,
Comps, the left bank of the Verdon, stopping off
at fantastic view points: Mescla balcony, the
Artuby bridge, Cavalier cliffs and Aiguines.
Then direction Moustier Sainte-Marie (ceramics
capital) going past the Sainte Croix lake.
Some free time for lunch. Returning through Aups
(black truffle country), Villecroze and Draguignan.
Arriving back about 6.30pm at Domaine du Colombier.
